In the year to 1st December 2020, Borchard Lines’ schedule reliability continues to show strong results, averaging over 93% on time, consistent over all quarters. Using the same methodology, this is in contrast to the global shipping trend, which as was recently noted:-
“Global schedule reliability of container shipping fell to just 56 percent in September, with the on-time performance of Asia shipments to the US West and East coasts slipping below 50 percent. According to data from Sea-Intelligence Maritime Analysis, the average delay of late vessels globally neared five days last month.” Journal of Commerce, 26 October 2020
The just-in-time nature of cargo and the increasing regionalisation of trade, requires the supply chain to operate with effectiveness.
Borchard Lines works in close co-operation with its landside partners and its clients to provide such a service.
