Borchard Lines has achieved average 97% schedule reliability during the first and second quarters of 2024.
In the period 1st April to 30th September 2024, Borchard Lines’ schedule reliability has remained at its high levels, averaging 97% on time. This is in comparison to a global industry average of around 53%, according to Sea-Intelligence.
Geopolitics, strikes and poor weather are always a factor in shipping, not least in short-sea shipping. The current slow steaming of large ships has not created better supply chains for shippers and receivers. According to Sea-Intelligence, as referenced in the Wall Street Journal in October 2024, large ships are offering on average 5-6 day delays on shipments, i.e already into the estimated arrival time of the following week’s ship.
Borchard Lines continues to believe its service and personal communication saves exporters and importers time and money on an end-to-end basis while providing requisite assurance to just-in-time industries.
