In the period 1st January to 30th June 2023, Borchard Lines’ schedule reliability has remained at its high levels, averaging between 94%-100% on time, This is in comparison to a global industry average of 60-65% (average of January-June 2023 figures). Importantly, large container lines’ late vessels are on average four days late. Together with the oft last minute ‘skipped’ sailings, the supply chain is constantly in flux. Ports continue to face major challenges from ships that are too large and have too many container moves for the surface areas of the ports.
Smaller ships such as in the Line’s services, offering frequency, reliability and personal service do not offer economies of scale. They do provide clients together with valued partners such as ports and truckers a proper and consistent supply chain.
